Polyester Powder Coated for Extra Protection
Posted on Oct 17, 2022Our range of Access Panels are painted with a polyester powder coating to give the panels extra protection against moisture and corrosion and provide long lasting colour retention.
Polyester powder coating is an alternative to liquid paint and leaves a hard, smooth finish. It is a quick and cost-effective paint that is often used on external products due to its corrosion resistant qualities.
Even though the majority of Access Panels are installed internally, we paint all our panels with polyester powder as standard to provide added protection and long life.
After cleaning the panel of any white dust residue, it is attached to a rotating conveyor system. The powder coating is first applied to the steel components of the Access Panel followed by the door and frame, inside and out. The panel is then cured under heat in our purpose-built paint booth. The hanging Access Panel dries in an oven at 180 degrees and any paint drops are collected via ducts which run into a spent powder vat for recycling.
Our Access Panels are supplied in white as standard, but because we are manufacturers, we can paint any RAL colour. RAL is a European system which defines colours and enables us to easily match colours.
