Fire Rated Access Panels Pass Testing
Posted on Jun 06, 2023Our UK manufactured Fire Rated Access Panels have recently passed re-testing with Warringtonfire, an independent testing company. They specialise in testing passive fire protection products using UKAS accredited testing facilities.
Ceildoor’s Fire Rated Access Panels need to be re-tested every five years to ensure they meet current guidelines and standards. Our panels were tested in accordance with EN 1634-2:2018 and comply with UK Building Regulations.
Fire resistance testing replicates how the Access Panel reacts. Our metal faced and plaster faced fire rated hatches were tested in a metal frame ceiling with the installed panel facing into the fire, so integrity against fire is based on one side only.
Smoke Seal
Our uniquely designed Fire Rated Access Panels come with a fitted smoke seal which was also tested. The high density gasket seal prevents smoke leakage and is often required as a minimum standard on modern projects where a fire risk has been identified.
The results of the testing means our 1 Hour Fire Rated Access Panels continue to be suitable for use as flue inspection hatches for heat producing appliances such as boilers, gas cookers and open hearths.
