Beaded vs Picture Framed Access Panels
Posted on Oct 17, 2022At Ceildoor Products we manufacture a full range of Access Panels offering both beaded and picture frames. Both styles of frames are manufactured from 1mm zintec steel, but what is the difference between the two types of frame?
Beaded frames
Beaded framed Access Panels are designed for installation into an unfinished wall or ceiling before being plastered. This means that the frame will be concealed by the plaster.
Our 25mm frames are fabricated in-house by punching 5mm and 10mm holes into the frame using CNC pneumatic press machines. This enables the plaster skim to adhere to the metal resulting in a smooth finish.
Our beaded frames allow for both a plaster skim finish or tape and joint finish.
Pairing our beaded Access Panel frame with a plaster-faced door will result in a flush and virtually concealed finish, with just 1mm visible material between the door and the frame.
Picture frames
Picture framed Access Panels are designed for installation in a finished wall or ceiling. The frame is visible once installed and sits against the finished wall or ceiling.
The door and the frame are painted inside and out with power-coated paint; our panels come in white RAL 9010 as standard but any RAL colour is available.
To ensure a correct fit of either frame option, the structural opening needs to be 10mm greater than the size of the Access Panel door.
